dnw - I thought that too until I tried! It's a proprietory EmPower connector, which is a round connector with several pins. These are the same as all in-seat power sockets on all airplanes, but there is no other type of device that uses it. That's how they can get away with charging about £80 ($110) for the connector kit! There are different kits available depending on the laptop type you have.
