Um, ok try this - lean forward slightly, now use your stomach and legs muscles to push your body up into a standing position. Use your arm rests for extra leverage if you need.
I agree, not very difficult to get out of a seat or chair without grabbing something in front of you. I would say in general, adding to the very nice tongue-in-cheek comment above by pbiflyer, that any time you go from a sitting position to a standing position, it is much easier on your lower back if you use your arms/hands to assist. Over the long term this will save a lot of wear and tear on a back, and we've got enough folks with back problems already. But when you use your arms/hands to assist, do it on your own seat and armrests, not someone else's.
