The reason they gave you is of course BS. You've been denied access simply because they often declined non-AF Skyteam pax in the evening due to capacity constraints. The lounge is already very full with AF pax (and I believe AT is still using this lounge for their CMN flights).
PP holders are not accepted from end afternoon for the same reasons.
