You may also want to look at using award miles, especially since many programmes are devaluing these points in a few months (most notably UA) so you may as well burn them while they're worth something! UA has one way awards starting at 30,000 miles + $50 in taxes and fees. The benefit of booking the award ticket is you generally have greater availability of flights, can cancel or change flights on a whim and have the standard economy allowances (i.e. free checked bag). I can't speak for AS, which you also mention you are a member of, but there may also be good deals there. You may even be able to find the elusive saver business deal and have a lie flat all the way to SF!
