How are they going to differenciate with that.. i mean, i know people that wear a bucketload of make up and look like a different person.
Also, if you arent going to need your passport until your destination, what about the people that are not smart enough to check and dont realise till they get there that they have left their passport on the kitchen table?
It's amazing how well a camera + software is doing in facial recognition. The company I'm currently working for was doing such a test a few months ago and I volunteered in the test phase. The only thing I was asked to do was passing the camera a few times during the testing period and giving input in a tablet about the result of identification. It managed to recognise me every single time, even when I walked in while the room was unlit, or when I had a hat on or a scarf was partially covering my face. I didn't even had to stand still to capture my image so I can imagine that the captured image would even be better at a boarding gate as you're standing still at that moment.
So a bit of make-up will probably not make any difference.
