A few years ago, on a regional flight, I was in a pretty comfortable spot on the UG list and did not get it. Once in the air, I ordered an alcoholic beverage, and the FA wanted to charge me. I said, “I’m EXP,” and she gave me a funny look. She said, “You’re the only EXP back here. You should have gotten one of the upgrades.” I said, “That’s what I thought, but oh well...”

I was in the A seat of the exit row of a 1-2 seating, so I can’t complain too much. She treated me well the rest of the flight, but I still have to wonder...
