I had a deep-discount PVG/CDG business-class flight on CA cancelled days ahead of time and I was able to get them to rebook me onto MU. This awesome info. The thing is, if the OP misses his connection, asking for a room in the Hilton, or even a lesser hotel, would be much better than an a HK reroute. While I realize that he wants to try to stay on schedule, introducing more variables into the equation is not good.
I still believe that he will make his 90 minute connection, and all will be fine. If he doesn't, he should ask for a hotel room, and peace out. This is MUCH better than trying to play the HK game.
