Just finished up two nights here. Some observations and experiences from my stay.
- Right near Shin-Osaka, thank you to everyone for the advice to seek out the McDonalds; it's the best way to find the hotel.
- Good location if you plan to do a day trip further westward as we did. If you plan to do a lot of Osaka things you might be better served further south in the city but honestly the added travel time is not that much.
- Was upgraded to a room on the 18th floor which is the highest guest room floor despite booking a low floor room. Lounge is on the 19th floor. It's the same room type as all the other rooms but less noise from the roads. The hotel was legitimately out of suites so we didn't get one.
- Given breakfast as a Platinum. Can either take western buffet in lounge or larger buffet in restaurant. Ended up doing restaurant on first day and it was very good.
- They have the buffet plus a made-to-order egg station that can also do dishes like fresh toast.
- Second day I planned to try the lounge but I slept in too late and skipped breakfast entirely.
- Also given 500 point welcome amenity; I didn't think to ask about F&B amenity option.
- Hotel sent up a welcome amenity thing later after checking in. It had a couple cookies which I still have not eaten yet.
- Lounge offering in the evening was okay. I don't drink so I can't comment on that. I appreciated that they had cranberry juice which I rarely see in Japan. Also, they have Perrier.
- Room provides a smartphone with cellular service which you can use while out in the city if you'd like. I think most people touring Japan do something like Google Fi or get a pocket WiFi so I don't know how often this service is used by guests, but it is there.
- Bathrooms have shampoo/conditioner/body wash in dispensers which sucks, but the amenity package contains traditional small squeeze tubes from a different brand, and subjectively they seemed to be of higher quality.
