I sort of agree, not necessarily "once-in-a-lifetime" vacations, but certainly big-ticket vacations with meaningful pre-paid/non-refundable components. For me, that's been my every-few-years ski trip to Europe. And the extra medical coverage is a bonus (I'm probably fairly well-covered for accidents, but I *think* the travel insurance will help with deductibles/co-insurance; plus my health insurance doesn't cover illness while abroad).
Cruises are another good reason to buy it.
