I really hope this works.
I set a reminder on my calendar to check-in 24 hours prior to departure. I typically receive the "it's time to check in" email 2-3 hours after I've checked in.

Last flight at DFW we left the Admirals Club ten minutes prior to the scheduled boarding time. We arrived one minute prior to that scheduled boarding time and the Gate Agent was already boarding Group 6.
