Just done my first proper TP Run LHR-HEL (maybe not a proper one as it was 2 nights!)

Thanks to loads of great advice on BAEC Forum and this thread especially I had a great trip.

What I learned:
CX lounge almost deserted for breakfast
HEL is good airport but long walks
Finnish is an unintelligible language, but everyone speaks English
HEL is an immensely doable city in a couple of days, but worth a return trip
A one day travel pass for €8 is great value - busses, trams and tube
It’s worth spending €5 on a bike pass. Makes nipping round a dream
Grön Restaurant is fantastic, especially if you’re a budding cook and ask for the chef’s table.
A CE C/I boarding pass gets you through premium security although BA not listed as possible airlines
AY lounge at gate 22 is light and airy and pleasant
AY lounge at gate 50 (past passport control) is unpleasant
