Which has the unfortunate side effect that when they cancel your flight, and the system takes 3 hours to auto-rebook you/won't display rebooking options for you, you can't get yourself a seat on the later flight going out even though they are still willing to sell seats on. So then you book yourself for the first flight the next morning instead of waiting for their system to actually provide rebooking options, because you need to confirm you're actually going to have a seat at a reasonable time to get to your destination for a meeting. Then after that the system decides to finally rebook your original reservation to the next day, creating conflicting bookings, it takes 3 weeks to get them to even look at providing a refund for the extra booking.

I'd take DL's way of handling mutliple bookings in a heartbeat over AA. Granted DL's irrops handling wouldn't cause such a headache in the first place. But to completely lock out your customers travelling for business from making a conflicting booking and leaving them guessing for hours when they're gonna be able to actually get to their destination is asinine.
