That doesn't surprise me, especially since there is no alternative. I just can't figure out why so many people are opposed to it, especially if it is done by Japan and not part of China's belt and strangle scheme.
It really does depend on the terms ... I think I would prefer the Japanese to build it as they have a lot of experience with safe high speed rail.
However, as Malaysia has said it's in deep debt, it might well be that cost is at the top of the agenda.
