Just enter the United Kingdom to landside via the UK Border. This is best for those with e-passport access or when the queues are short. Go out via the right escalator down to the baggage carousels, through Customs. Then once landside take the orange lift to the top floor, Departures. So this route is an alternative to the usual Flight Connection route, where you would stay airside.
