Let's say your friend was assigned A-17, and A-16 cancelled their flight between T-36 and T-24. The other person books a flight with EBCI after that cancellation and gets the A-16...but not sure if you can buy EBCI within T-36?

Edit: Doesn't look like you can buy EBCI within T-36
