I also didn't have a fax machine... this is 2019... but I contacted them on Twitter and sent my confirmation email and boarding pass etc.. As well as some security questions, whatever they needed. The messages there sorted it for me.

It was on an Aer Lingus flight and not Alaska but much the same idea. Worth a try maybe? Just DM British Airways on Twitter.
