I have a trip planned for Sicily. The travel company explained voltage there is 220V so a voltage converter is necessary.

Should I purchase and bring my own voltage converter (i.e. laptop, hair dryer, etc) or do the hotels in Sicily already provide this?

If I need to purchase something, what would you suggest?
