The OTA is probably just seeing the BA to AA and thinking this will involve a xfer from T7 to T8. A transfer from AY to AA is of course a T8 to T8 transfer and does indeed qualify for a shorter MCT as pointed out above. I recollect someone else having a similar issue with an OTA BA(AY) ticket but don’t have time at the moment to go find the thread or other similar threads.
