Prior to May 2017 I would have agreed with you, but then NZ underwent a renovation and major expansion (good photos in this article). Although I enjoy both lounges, now I actually prefer NZ over SQ. Great booze selection (I am partial to a good NZ cider...), barista bar, many times more space than SQ, newer facilities, and a slightly broader selection of food than SQ as well. ^
i used the air NZ lounge in Mel Easter Monday had the food was very good, omelet bar was set up and the chef was a cooking machine
