It sure seems like Uber is trying hard to have your $15/mo/card expire without being used.
I normally use Uber 6-7 times a month and have the payment method set to Uber Cash. The Amex credit is always the FIRST credit listed (and first to be used) when I click on the breakdown of amounts stored in my Uber Cash account.
Maybe I am just lucky so far because I have not had a single issue with using up the full $15 credit each month and when I don't use the full amount, I just roll it over to the next month.
