Thanks for all your help. I haven't bought the ticket yet, but here is what I plan on purchasing. EWR-IAD-LHR LHR-ORD-EWR on a W fare. For the return the late flight to ORD is the one I will buy, but I was wondering if I would have any chance of going standby on one of the two earlier flights. With the threat of the strike though I'm not sure I will even go. I was planning on going Sept. 9-13, do flyertalkers have any opinions on how long they think the possible strike may last?
