Yes. It has happened to me. ERJ140 and bad weather plus irrops. One seat open, I was #1 of many on revenue standby, at first it looked like they would not clear me due to weight. They cleared me, I boarded, then I guess they got a couple of last minute bags, ran the numbers again, and pulled me back off. Flight went with an empty seat.
