Stand By For Later Flights & Weight/Balance on RJs

Been using AA's standby options more frequently lately, and a couple questions I'm wondering if anyone has some insight on.

First, if you standby for a later flight, and never clear the list by the end of the day, what happens? Do you continue to roll to the next available flight? Obviously you're confirmed seat is gone since you waited for a later flight.

Second, once you clear the list, are you now considered a confirmed passenger? Was flying a RJ the other day and the non-revs who cleared the standby list got pulled back off due to weight/balance issues, which I know can happen for non-revs. Can the same happen for revenue standbys being pulled for weight/balance; or do they need to try and solicit volunteers if they need to remove additional passengers for weight/balance once you have boarded?
