A near perfect stay at my new favorite in Boston

Introduction I returned to the RC Boston after 2 weeks on the road after a pretty nice upgraded stay last year--during which I'd had some major air con issues but felt the hotel really stepped up to try to make up for those. My 2018 review of this hotel was posted to the Luxury Hotels Forum: https://www.flyertalk.com/hotel-revi...-boston-1708My faith in the hotel was absolutely rewarded on this second stay in late March 2019. I loved it--even though the air con still took a bit of adjusting. (It's really me.) This certainly will be my go-to luxury hotel in Boston. Check In Check in was easy and fast. Despite my telling my Ambassador and the hotel that a regular room was more than sufficient, I was pre-upgraded a few days prior to my arrival into an Executive Suite. That's the same category I booked the year before. (I'd begged them also to never upgrade me to the Luxury Suite category where I had so many air con nightmares in 2018!)So for a $401 AAA deluxe room rate, I was in an Executive Suite normally costing $900+. Not too shabby. Room Since the room looks almost exactly as it did last year, I will just post the photos:Notice the extra water that I always request in advance. That was replenished every day by housekeeping without me saying a word. Nicely done.I thought it odd that the curtains had been drawn in the bedroom as if it already had gotten turndown service. Only when I opened them did I realize why: the hotel had taken my request for blackout shades to a level I'd only eperienced a few times by some truly spectacular hotels! They actually blacked out the windows in the bedroom behind the shades so I would have proper blackout conditions. Truly extraordinary! WiFi speeds were fantastic:The air con was running but not quite to the level I'd requested (and been promised). A quick call to the engineers (who totally remembered me from the year before), and the problem was quickly rectified. The thermostat wasn't quite accurate, but it was cold enough for me. Within a few hours, the suite was down to 66 F. Bliss. Service Service was everything I could have hoped. Upgraded to an Executive Suite from a regular paid room even after I told them I was traveling alone for work and a regular room would be fine. They took my blackout request as seriously as the StR San Francisco and literally blacked out the bedroom windows.Of course I still needed the engineers to make the bedroom colder. But they did--and quickly! But all my advance requests were otherwise met: fan at the foot of the bed, lots of extra water, and a beautiful welcome amenity of chocolate covered strawberries were all waiting for me--as if the upgrade and blackout treatment weren’t enough. I really was very impressed.Service for room service and at the bar was also fabulous. The RC hit it out of the park on this stay! Dining Food and beverage here continue to shine. The bartender makes a mean Manhattan...even as some "straight" businessman was checking me out. Caught ya!And room service is always delicious here:The fact that I enjoyed my room service so much here is demonstrated again by the fact that my dinners otherwise were at the amazing O Ya and Uni restaurants in town! Location Location is fantastic, just a block off the Boston Common. Overall The Ritz-Carlton Boston continues to be my reliable luxury home away from home in Boston. Loved it again. Can't wait to be back in June.
