I flew on the Max pretty much twice a week from Nov 2017 when it went into service, until recently. Had no concerns then and have none now. I haven't followed all the technical aspects closely but think I read that AC purchased whatever safety options were missing from the affected aircraft.

Of course, the ethics of having "safety options" is another story
