I like Bangkok in general, the food, the people, the hotels (The Oriental!!), the atmosphere. But it can get much quite easily. The crowds and the pollution don't help. I wasn't that excited about the temples and the Royal Palace. I prefer the rest of Thailand a lot more. So, Bangkok to me is worth a couple of days to take it easy. Hong Kong, although not as culturally intense, is so well organized and easy to get around that anybody can manage. It is also visually stunning. I've been watching the HK skyline for decades now, and it never, never ceases to amaze me. So, I'd do the 70:30 choice split that wideman talks about.
