try checking into ANY sheraton in HNL without a picture id.
absolutely no access without picture id. this happened to my mother 10 yrs ago at princess K. she had left the islands on an earlier flight than me and I had her passport.
They made her sit in the foyer with her bags till I arrived. another time I packed it in my luggage and I had to completely unpack in the foyer. they would not let me into the room to unpack.
I had the same problem at the sheraton jfk and lax.

No picture ID no room key. I think we had all better get used to it.
some others I wont name dont even ask for a credit card or ID they just give me the key-now that is a bit silly.
