Regardless of the specific local procedures, you do not have a connection at all but two separate tickets. If your inbound flight is delayed to the extent that you do not present yourself in time for boarding of your second flight, all segments on that second ticket will be cancelled leaving you to buy a new ticket at walk-up prices.
