Tried out the WiFi on a 772 and 747 a fortnight ago. Both times I paid for the streaming package (mainly out of fear that the ordinary offer would be too slow), although I'm not sure how much success I'd have had if I did want to watch Netflix - as BA suggests when you connect. It was good for social media browsing, Spotify, the odd YouTube clip. Posting a single image from my phone to social media took about 30 seconds. The short video clip I tried to send never even posted.

So, yes, it's a start - but have your movies ready before you board.
