As a rather different take on this, I am currently in discussion with both Hilton and Barclaycard, as my status was downgraded to Silver on 1st April.
I have had the card for about 5 years now and have exceeded the £10k spend every year. I also qualify for Gold based on stays in many years, but didn't do so last year (had 19 stays, and didn't worry about the 20th as I knew that the card would qualify me).
Emails have been going back and forth for the past week to try to correct this. I think we are nearly there now, but it has been a pain.
I came on here to see if anyone else was having similar problems, but it seems not. I do wonder whether my actually qualifying based on stays is the problem. Maybe, as I was gold anyway last years spend was never activated on my Hilton account.
My own experience is that unless you tell Barclaycard that you are filing a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service, you won't get any satisfaction. I ultimately managed to get some compensation from Barclaycard but still haven't received several thousand points.
I wish you luck -- I just cancelled the card out of frustration.
