As someone has stated, if AA cancels her flight, AA will attempt to get her to FCO. It would be acceptable if she found another flight to CLT, if AA had cancelled her flight to CLT. She might even be able to drive to MCO.. The point is she MUST tell AA her plans. If the AA flight to CLT is cancelled, and they rebook her, but she ignores this and makes her own plans without telling AA, then the remaining part of the ticket could be worthless..
I am a bit confused by your questions.
You asked about her booking a flight a day before the original flight. Now you are asking about what happens if AA has canceled her flight.
Can you please clarify the exact issue you are asking about? Get to the real point.
