Are you aware of any other Pacific countries or airlines that charge a credit card surcharge???

When you buy duty free items charged to credit card on board Korean Air, albeit catalog shows prices both in Korean Won and US Dollar, always they will apply price in Korean Won and convert into US Dollar which is always more than dollar price set in their catalog in these weak dollar days. In other words, if price in catalog is USD40, you would see USD42 in your statement.
Protested but they say this is their policy. If paid in cash, they charge USD40.
