The GC policy (if any) is really store and person specific. The WM I like to go to, there is one CSM who is an enemy of GC and she checks cards. Most of the other regular CSRs do not check cards. They just do not care what you are doing.
But split payment with 4 cards clearly raises a red flag in most of WMs.
