Sure hope this doesn’t impact the beaches in Wailea when I am there next month! That said, I might not bother going in the ocean anyways beyond dipping the toes in...last time I was in Maui (4.5 years ago), I think I got some kind of bacterial infection in the waistband of my swimming trunks - it was itchy and red for a couple weeks afterwards. Reading the above, now it makes sense if there was some sort of waste seeping into the water...
