I echo what was said below: window seat and fire up your favourite app. I find FR24 works nicely, and it's cool to see the lag between your phone's GPS position and the indicated position of your flight on the map. Sometimes it can be off by a mile or two, surprisingly sometimes not.
Speaking of GPS, I tried Many times to log the route and speed/altitude data but I never seem to get the GPS working on a flight, not even on the ground.
