EFC: apparently some/many/most/all stores are still open, but are only staffed by members of management, who are non-union. i won't make an OMNI/PR comment about how crossing a picket line in order to MS isn't the most noble thing one can do in life.
Caption on a news photo I saw: "Elizabeth Warren shakes hands and greets striking Stop & Shop workers while also bringing coffee and donuts in Somerville, Massachusetts." She's holding a box from Dunkin Donuts, which is controlled by private equity groups Bain and Carlyle.
FWIW, Stop & Shop and Giant Landover are both owned by Dutch company Royal Ahold Delhaize, which also owns Food Lion and Hannaford in the US and other grocery/retail chains in Europe.
