It's a computer that doesn't look like most people's image of a computer.

Also, it has an antenna and this is an RF device with no obvious type certifications. And most of them look like science projects with at least two cables and a brightly coloured dongle. Stuff like that would look 'interesting' on an X Ray.

If it were me, I wouldn't risk the hassle but let us know how it works out if you try.

The easier solution might be to simply purchase WiFi, open up FlightAware Pro on your laptop / tablet and have at it.
