I understand this kind of risk exists anywhere, but is there any report
in particular with this HGI about the (possible) theft of belongings
in the guest rooms (which I must have missed if exists) ?

2. I plan to buy a tourist SIM which needs to be registered at an official store now.
Buying a sim at the airport could cost x3 (or more?) than buying in the city.
However, I plan to go to the hotel directly from DPS with their shuttle.
Is it still worth going to the city for buying a sim (for which I may have to
use taxi) ? How about klook service ?

3. I booked a standard king bed room. Is it ever possible that they
upgrade it to a suite for a gold ? Is there any case where they offer
paid upgrade ?

Thanks.
1. Macbook was fine, with no struggle at all - so i guess laptops in general should be fine

2. Going back to the airport for a SIM on the shuttle would be a solution, I guess; but if you want to venture out you can easily get to a commercial area of Kuta on foot, although a Grab would cost very little. It would be a good way to get your bearings. The hotel people will help you out, and Google maps can be your friend. As for taxis, Grab (car or bike) is a handy way to get around.

3. I've over-nighted there a few times. Perhaps half of those visits they've given me a suite. There aren't many of them - but while it's always nice to get a suite, they are no big deal.
