One of the strange advantages of Basic Economy is you can get reimbursed 100% through the travel insurance without having to wait a year / try to use the residual value.
I had to cancel a UA BE trip due to illness of a family member I was supposed to travel with. Calling Chase I was advised that a medical form has to be filled out by the Dr. office.
Still waiting to get that form sent to me. I also tried to find a copy online. If anybody has a link to such form I would be glad to learn about it.
