I am moving to Qatar for a 3-4 year assignment and will have monthly economy class return trips to Europe (10-12 per yr). After that I imagine that I will move to Europe or Asia for a further 5-10 yrs of travel for work. I am a Platinum for Life on Air France but have no status on other airlines. I will have family members flying between Qatar and the UK 4-6 return trips per year.
My first priority is to earn some status to make my trips more comfortable, second priority is to earn miles from my and my family's travel.

Should I focus on membership, earning status via the BA Executive Club or Qatar Privilege Club.
