IME it is collection-dependent. There are clearly some new collections from Tumi that are fashion-oriented and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they sacrifice quality. But the new Latitude line, for example, is certainly better than my prior Tumi polycarbonate offerings, with vastly superior wheels and better handle, zippers, and lock.
