This happens all the time with me, the problem is the UA miles part,Also, in common with a lot of airlines, I have a hyphen in my last name which is not accepted.So I end up with
Johndavid and Xxxxxxxx instead of John David Xxxx-Xxxx..You need to see if you can amend your UA account because I do not think a travel agent will be able to do anything differently.
