Enjoyed our 8 night stay here. Booked using an old Travel package (bought pre-merger) for 330k points (they refunded 30k after the merger category changes) which also included 162k Aeroplan miles (35% bonus promo at the time I bought the package) which we used for our return TK biz class from Thailand last summer. I also needed an 8th night due to award flight availability so used my free night from hitting 75 elite nights last year. This hotel is now a cat 6 so none of this would work booking wise as of March 2019.
We didn’t get the 2BR suite upgrade (I did check and it wasn't even bookable for our whole stay so no shenanigans) but the 1BR suite with 2 queen beds ended up fine for us as my oldest used the sofa bed. We were toward the end of the ocean view side which made it easier to park right near our room and avoid the elevators every day. We had a nice view where we could see the ocean and we were away from the construction of the new hotel going up nearby (which may block ocean views when complete). At first it’s annoying that it’s not right on the beach but then you realize that it encourages you to visit different beaches every day which was great. The 4pm checkout as a Titanium Elite is clutch so you can enjoy your last day before the redeye flight home. Breakfast was decent but got a bit repetitive, so we went out for breakfast a few times to change things up. No resort fees of course so that helps. Parking is $25/day but there was always a spot near our room available. Hotel staff are helpful & friendly and we didn't even get charged for a few things my daughter got at the market. Cleaners come mid-morning which is clutch when you need that afternoon nap because you wake up at 5am there every day due to the time change. Hotel is clean, well-maintained and relatively new. Very easy to get anywhere on Maui from there as it's right off the end of Pi'ilani Highway. If you need more space than the usual hotel room, this is a good option.
