We stayed there during the very busy Feb break. Because it is so spread out - even though it was completely sold out - we didn't feel it. I didn't mind walking/biking around even though we had a golf cart. We hardly used it. The hard product is very nice. Renovation was well done. We had some hiccups with service and disorganization but they tried to remedy it (things like planned programming that didn't happen or was hours late, not great communication). Nothing deal breaking and everyone tried their hardest. The beach is really amazing, I don't think you will miss having a pool. The food was okay. We did lunch and breakfast there every day and spent most nights out at different restaurants on the island. There is really good food on the island so it would be a pity to spend every dinner there.
I think you will enjoy it. I heard that the service is improving and we have friends who went Xmas break, Feb break and March break and when we compare notes - it definitely is getting better. I would go back again. My favorite hotel in the Carribbean is still Amanyara in Turks. They also have service issues sometimes but I think that is just the more "relaxed" vibe in the Caribbean. It is not a deal breaker for me.
