I stayed at the Sam Houston two weeks ago as a Diamond as well. I’m sure my expectations are on the lower end as a Diamond, but I thought the place was fine (not great, fine.) given the rate. I also did not get an upgrade, but customer service was great. Room service was shut down earlier than I liked, but Uber Eats was delivered and the hotel assisted them in delivering it up to the room.
