It's a small town without many facilities such as restaurants oriented toward foreigners, but to really enjoy the sights, two days or sat least two partial days would be helpful. I visited for a single day by train, and it was a lot in one day, especially a lot of walking. It would have been nice to split it into two days (even if not two full days) and to have had the option to return to one's hotel room briefly in the middle of a long day.
