Same situation for me.
First stay posted after second stay. First stay received double point bonus while second, longer, stay didn't.
Marriott IT simply add bonus based on posting sequence, not on stay sequence. I am short more than 5K points but not sure if it is worthwhile to pursue. I had to follow up multiple times to get my first stay posted so don't want to risk messing it up again.
Perhaps Marriott should clarify T&C of this promo where first/second means posting date, not stay dates.
