This makes me really glad I just purchased an EK F/J ticket (accruing to AS) over a *A itinerary for my next BKK trip. With 400k UA miles, I am now in burn mode, and I expect to buy away from UA even more with this change. Not clear to me that 1K will be worth it after this year.
