Last year, I provided boarding pass and ID to the attendant, who told me to leave laptop in bag; fluids in bag; shoes on. When I approached the metal detector, another employee demanded I take out laptop and fluids, and remove shoes. I pointed to the first attendant, and said "she told me not to...who is right?". And then the fight started.......between the two employees.
The agent checking boarding passes at the lower TBIT security checkpoint has always told me to hold onto my boarding pass (assuming I have a physical one) to show to the agent at the metal detector.
