No such thing as a 737-8? You're mistaken. The 737-8 is the 737 MAX 8. Similar to 787 is called Dreamliner.

Look at the formal Boeing documentation, or FAA type certificate for the aircraft. It says 737-8. Or, check out Emergency Airworthiness Directive AD 2018-23-51. That one has been popular recently. Or check out the EASA type cert. All say 737-8.
